Kids Zone is hosting a Letters with Santa and Family Pizza Night! Enjoy a family night out where children can write their own letters to Santa and hand them to him themselves! Includes a hot chocolate station where children can make and dress up there own cup of hot cocoa. Visit Santa, take photos and give him your letter! Nov. 29.

It’s Christmas at the Safety Village! All are welcome to visit the Village from 5pm-8pm Enjoy the beautiful windows decorated by community partners, the new classrooms, free Hot Chocolate and take some great family pictures! Nov. 29 & 30.

Meet Soviet T34-84 at the Ontario Regiment Museum! This event includes a special reveal ceremony and a Tank Talk on this interesting military vehicle. Museum is open 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM, with the Tank Talk at 1:00 PM Get up close and see this iconic military vehicle in person! We will start up the engine and you will get to see it move inside the Military Vehicle Conservation Centre. Nov. 30.

Shop local and support the LivingRoom project at the same time at our 6th Annual Handmade With Heart Marketplace! The LivingRoom Community Art Studio’s annual holiday arts & crafts marketplace is back, on Saturday, November 30th from 10 am – 4 pm at Trent University Durham! This year’s event features handpicked, local artists and craftspeople selling one-of-a-kind finds and independently made treats for everyone on your holiday shopping list. Our fabulous friends at Trent University Durham are hosting the event – which means free parking, and a fully accessible space for all our shoppers! The sale is FREE for all to attend – but donations of non-perishable food items are welcomed for Trent’s Student Holiday Food Drive for local families in need. Join us for a magical trip where York-Durham Heritage Railway will be providing service to the North Pole onboard THE POLAR EXPRESS™ Train Ride this holiday season. The magical story comes to life starting in our enchanted Christmas tent with a magical tree lighting followed with the train one hour round-trip train ride to the North Pole. Set to the sounds of the motion picture soundtrack, with singers and dancers passengers will relive the magic of the story as they are whisked away on THE POLAR EXPRESS™. Once onboard, hot chocolate and treats are served as passengers read along with the classic children’s book, The Polar Express, by Chris Van Allsburg. Santa and his helpers greet passengers at the North Pole and then board the train, where everyone is given the first gift of Christmas. Pajamas for children of all ages is encouraged! Various dates.

2019 marks Pickering’s first ever Christmas Market, located in the heart of our city, Esplanade Park. Expanding on the annual Tree Lighting Ceremony, this multi-day event will have unique gift and food vendors, carolers and live entertainment to assure all that attend get fully into the holiday spirit. Catch Matilda on stage at the Oshawa Little Theatre! Matilda is a little girl with astonishing wit, intelligence and psychokinetic powers. She’s unloved by her cruel parents but impresses her schoolteacher, the highly loveable Miss Honey. Over the course of her first term at school, Matilda and Miss Honey have a profound effect on each other’s lives, as Miss Honey begins not only to recognize but also appreciate Matilda’s extraordinary personality. Matilda’s school life isn’t completely smooth sailing, however – the school’s mean headmistress, Miss Trunchbull, hates children and just loves thinking up new punishments for those who don’t abide by her rules. But Matilda has courage and cleverness in equal amounts and could be the school pupils’ saving grace! Various dates/times.

It’s Sunday FUNday at the Oshawa Museum! See just how different life was for families around a Victorian home, especially at Christmas! Explore roles of the family, tools and gadgets that made their life easier and how the Victorians decorated their homes for the holidays. Get hands-on with real artefacts from the Victorian Era used in real Victorian homes, over 150 years ago! Sunday FUNdays are held on the first Sunday of the month. Join us for the Dash Down Nash at the 7th Annual Courtice Santa Claus Parade! Sunday, Dec 1st from noon-2pm. Route starts on Nash at Townline Rd. and travels about 1.2 km east to George Reynolds Dr. Great floats, but even better community spirit! Dec. 1.

Head to Ajax for Ajax On Stage: Youth Talent Showcase! Bands, dance groups, vocalists, comedians, and performers showcase their talents at this spectacular event. Go back in time for Christmas in the Village at the Pickering Museum Village! Visit with the inhabitants of the pioneer village as they share their holiday customs. Enjoy Scottish Hogmanay, Welsh traditions, Victorian Christmas celebrations, Squire Jonathan’s Christmas Ball, and a walk in the woods to see how Pickering’s first settlers struggled in the wilderness. Backwoods Players presents the “Duffins Creek Sunday School Pageant” free with admission. Special Admission fees apply. Dec. 1.
