Head to the Robert McLaughin Gallery for and evening of art and music at RMG Fridays! Plug in for an electric night of celebrating art and technology. Featuring musical performances by KASHKA and Joey Manay, video game demos created by the students of UOIT’s Game Development and Entrepreneurship Program, and the activation of our newest exhibition “To the Unseen Future” by James Kirkpatrick. Carea Community Heath Centre is the place to be for Ganawenindiwag “They Take Care of Each Other” Wellness Day, hosted by Bawaajigewin Aboriginal Community Circle.  It’s a day filled with sacred traditional and western wellness. Teens can get creative at Green Art in Action at the Oshawa Public Library!  Led by a professional artist from VIBE Arts, collaborate with other youths to create two murals that reflect the environment and natural surroundings. The murals will be publicly displayed in time for Earth Day. Earn high school community service hours and create something enlightening! March 2 2019. The LivingRoom Community Art Studio is hosting local artist Afraa Alam’s first solo exhibit and sale!  Hand-painted clothing, accessories, stickers, art prints and more will be on exhibit and also for sale – so don’t miss your opportunity to champion this local, young, emerging artist! It’s time for the 3rd annual ACDR gala at the Robert McLauglin Gallery! This year’s theme is Bal du Moulin Rouge.ACDR is a community based, non-profit organization that works to support and improve the lives of those living with HIV/AIDS. This gala is an opportunity for the agency to raise funds that are needed to provide quality services to our community, and to celebrate the resilience of their clients, and the community partners that stand behind them. The Ontario Philharmonic presents Bold Beautiful Bach – J.S. Bach Super Hits! An entire program of Bach, conducted by Guest Conductor, James Liu of Wuhan China. Interpretations of Concerto for Violin no.1, BWV 1041 in A minor by their very own Concertmaster Etsuko Kimura, and Concerto for Two Violins, BWV 1043 in D minor with Etsuko Kimura. The Robert McLaughlin Gallery is hosting Artist Talk: Empowering Change with Simon Raskina, Gallery A artist in residence. Take a look around his studio and learn more about his works in progress!
Simon is an Ajax-based artist who seeks to spread optimism among his viewers by communicating through the intensity of his energetic brushstrokes and vibrant palette. While in residence, Simon will be preparing for his upcoming exhibitions at the RMG and another in New York City later this year with a charity organization known as Sayfty. Sayfty educates and empowers Indian women against sexual violence and discrimination. March 3 2019. 12 pm. 72 Queen Street, Oshawa. FREE. 

It’s Sunday FUNday at the Oshawa Museum! Try your hand at a photo scavenger hunt in Guy House based on the Museum’s Exhibit “A True History of Lakeview Park…Mostly”, a series of paintings by local artist Eric Sangwine.
