The Pickering Museum Village presents Durham Region’s longest-running, award-winning original play about the Rebellion of 1837. A Spirit Walk: Call to Rebellion, tells the story of Pickering’s early settlement, the growing seeds of political and social discontent in Upper Canada, and the consequences of the rebels’ decisions to take up arms. The evening includes a candle lit walk from scene to scene through the site lead by an actress in the role of Peter Matthews’ widow, Hannah Matthews. It’s the Oshawa Executive Airport’s annual open house! This is a free fantastic family fun opportunity to learn more about Oshawa Executive Airport as they celebrate 77 years in the Oshawa community. The wings and wheels themed event will present assortment of aircraft along with other aviation related displays, plus, the Pineridge Corvette Club will be on site with a variety of Corvettes, classic cars and hot rods. Tour the airport and travel the runways on a free airside shuttle bus and discover Canada’s largest collection of operational military vehicles at the Ontario Regiment R.C.A.C. museum.
