Get creative at the 4Cats Art Studio in Whitby! Choose from dozen of fun, family friendly (and super cute!) clay or paint projects.  Workshops available for children and their parents, child only, adult, plus camp programs! J04–308 Taunton Rd. E., Whitby. 

Love shopping local? Head to Whitby for the Abilities Centre & Picks and Giggles All Things Handmade show 2018! It’s a completely handmade and local shopping experience with 100 local artisans showcasing their beautifully handmade items. And while you’re there, don’t miss exploring the various inclusive programs the Abilities Centre has to offer! June 9 2018. Admission is $4 – Kids under 3 are free. 10 am to 3 pm. 55 Gordon Street, Whitby. 

Get ready to enjoy live entertainment, Caribbean cuisine, children’s shows, vendor showcase, carnival rides and more at the Durham Caribbean Festival! June 16 2018. 11 am to 9 pm. Ajax Downs, 50 Alexander’s Crossing, Ajax. $6 and up. 

Pepperbean offers cooking classes, camps, and cooking parties for kids and teens, plus they offer parent and child classes, too! 66 Simcoe Street South, Oshawa, in the Simcoe Street United Church. 

Fiesta Week returns to Oshawa for a week of fun entertainment and great food! Join the kick off  on June 17, 2018 at the annual Fiesta Parade, then all week visit many different cultural pavilions around town to join the celebrations! Adult Passport $10, Student/Senior Passport $6, children under 14 free with a paying adult. Various locations/times, check the website for further details. 

Grab your fuzzy friends and head to the Pickering Museum Village for an old fashioned Teddy Bear Picnic! Bring a picnic lunch, and get ready to explore what life was like for the pioneers! June 23 & 24. 10 am to 4 pm. 2365 6th Concession Road, Greenwood. $10 adults, $8 students/seniors, $6 children, under 3s free. 

Dust off your bike and head to TRAILfest in Ajax! Celebrate the great outdoors and explore Ajax’s beautiful and extensive trail system.  Choose from three rides: a 52km Ride with the Mayor, the 17.3km Tour D’Ajax, or an easy 3km Family Walk/Run & Stroll.  When you’re finished, there is a free BBQ for all registered participants, a DJ, children’s entertainment, and community displays! Registration required. June 24 2018. McLean Community Centre – 95 Magill Dr, Ajax. FREE. 

Other Events:

The City of Oshawa is proud to present the 14th annual Peony Festival June 9 and 10, 2018, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. This free event displays 300 types of peonies in the gardens and 100’s more inside Children’s Arena. Artisans, live music, food, gardening seminars, fun for kids, community displays and more are all part of this festival. Also this year we will be proudly hosting the Canadian Peony Society’s Annual General Meeting. Location: Oshawa Botanic Gardens.

Swing Under the Stars at Parkwood Estate! Mood Swing Band will transport you back to the 1940s during Parkwood’s post Aquino Weekend (Tank Museum Event Weekend) social evening. Saturday, June 9 from 8:00pm to midnight. $50 per person (tax included) Ticket includes light refreshments; and evening program under the marquee, beer and wine will be available for purchase. AQUINO Tank Weekend at the Ontario Regiment Museum, Canada’s largest military show! Visit the Museum on AQUINO Weekend to see live demonstrations including TANKS, battle re-enactments, artillery, static displays and more.  The annual show will be a weekend long event, with events and exhibits on Saturday and Sunday. Saturday, 9 JUNE 2018 – Live vehicle demonstrations, re-enactments and tank rides culminating in finale LIVE SHOW. Sunday, 10 JUNE 2017 – Live vehicle demonstrations, re-enactments and tank rides culminating in second annual LIVE SHOW, with a knock out finale!
