Where to Eat Chinese Food in Oshawa

Fortune Palace:  Fortune Palace took over the restaurant formerly known as The Globe, and customers are praising the revamped menu. Go for traditional Chinese dishes and Canadian comfort food, plus lunch specials and combo plates. 60 Athol Street East, Oshawa. 

May Flower: This unassuming strip-mall eatery serves classic Chinese & Polynesian dishes and has been in business practically forever. There’s no website, so drop in or call 905-576-5555.  210 King St E, Oshawa. 

Lucky Cho: Check out Lucky Cho for Manchurian Chinese food, plus their Hakka noodles are a local favourite.  Lots of vegetarian options, plus lunch specials and meals combos. 20 King Street East, Oshawa. 

Family Wok: Lunch specials, family dinners and combo platters are all available at this downtown Oshawa restaurant. Online menu and ordering available, but they’re closed Wednesdays. 21 Simcoe Street North, Oshawa. 

Azian Cuisine:  Like the Mandarin, there’s a little bit of everything at Azian, including Chinese fried rice and noodles, Vietnamese pho, pad thai and Japanese sushi and udon.  Azian offers a slightly up market dining experience, plus take out.  1365 Wilson Road North, Oshawa.

King’s Buffet: There’s a buffet, take out menu, and dinner buffet “to go” at this Grandview Street restaurant that offers Chinese food, seafood, roast turkey or beef, spare ribs, breaded shrimp, salad bar, and dessert bar. 600 Grandview Street South, Oshawa. 

Wok Box:  Another Asian mash-up of a menu, offering Canada’s favourite dishes, the Wok Box chain offers rice and noodle boxes with flavours such as Korean beef bulgogi, butter chicken, lemongrass Thai curry, Singapore cashew, and pad thai. 855 Taunton Road E., Oshawa. 

China Wok: It’s modest, but it’s been serving familiar Chinese & Thai dishes for many years. Try their lunch specials or family dinners with take out and delivery options available. 381 Stevenson Rd N, Oshawa. 

Hong Kong House:  Hong Kong House has been in downtown Oshawa pretty much forever, and those who love it forgive the dated decor.  Portions are large, average around $10 a dish, and include Chinese favourites like chop suey, chow mein, sweet and sour, and spicy Szechuan.  89 Simcoe Street South, Oshawa.
