Things to do in Oshawa on Family Day 2018


The Abilities Centre in Whitby is offering a day of FREE family fun!  55 Gordon Street, Whitby.  9 am to 2 pm. FREE. 

Join the fun at the Robert McLaughlin Gallery on Family Day! Learn funky art techniques to create amazing and wonderful things out of discarded materials and other found objects. Learn more about the value of turning trash into treasures. Robert McLaughlin Gallery, 72 Queen Street, Oshawa. 1 pm to 3 pm. FREE. 

Make the Oshawa Museum a part of your Family Day plans and spend the day with three of Oshawa’s oldest families! The Oshawa Museum is open from 12 – 4 on for tours and a special colouring afternoon. Guy House activities are free, and donations for tours are kindly accepted.  Lakeview Park, Oshawa. 12 pm to 4 pm. FREE. 

The Community Builders Network of Hope presents Family Fun Day 2018! Join us for this free, family friendly event for all ages.  There will be: Family skating (10 am -12 pm) at the Tribute Communities Centre, Magician Show, Jumping Castle, Petting Zoo, Food Venue, Outdoor Games & Hot Chocolate & Photos with Paw Patrol! Bring your family to the Ontario Regiment Museum to explore Durham Region’s military history! See artifacts and weapons from over 150 years of Canadian History from 1866 to today, and get up close with Tanks and Armoured vehicles! 1000 Stevenson Road North. 12 pm to 4 pm. $5 Adult, $3 Senior/Student, $2 Children under 12.

Celebrate Family Day at the Mary Street YWCA  and get active with a variety of fun activities – all for FREE! Celebrate Family Day by making artwork together at the Station Gallery in Whitby where the theme is Ordinary Extraordinary!  Experiment and play with unexpected art materials. From string to aluminum, paper to plastic – you’ll be amazed at the extraordinary things you can make with ordinary stuff. 1450 Henry Street, Whitby. 11 am to 2 pm. FREE. All ages. Drop in. 

The Canadian Automotive Museum has extended its hours for Family Day! The Canadian Automotive Museum is the perfect place for families with young children to spend Family Day 2018. Crafts, activities, and guided tours will be available throughout the day and are included with admission. This year children will be able to make their own racing goggles, take home a balloon race car, and get their picture taken with Lightning McQueen. Special guest Steve Fisher from Balloons with a Twist will be making balloon cars for visitors between 11am and 2pm. 99 Simcoe Street South, Oshawa. 9 am to 5 pm. $10 Adults, $5 Youth, under-5s free.

Check out Creative Kids Industrial Arts Display n’ Play Open House at the Legends Centre! Come out and play with some of the activities your child will learn to build throughout the program. It’s free but PLEASE reserve your spot!
