What’s On Oshawa Weekend January 19 – 21 2018

Did the DDSB PA day sneak up on you? The Oshawa Museum is offering an Artefact Exploration PA Day Camp! Suitable for children JK – Grade 8. Register in advance by phoning the Oshawa Museum at 905-436-7624 ext. 106. Lunch, snacks and drinks are not supplied by the Museum. Please note they cannot guarantee a nut free environment. January 19 2018. 9 am to 3 pm. $20 per child. 1450 Simcoe Street South, at Lakeview Park, Oshawa. 

Durham Shoestring Performers presents The Other Place, directed by Phil Ireland. Juliana Smithton is a successful scientist whose life suddenly takes a left turn. Her husband is filing for divorce, her research assistant has run off with her daughter, and to top it off, she has brain cancer…maybe. Or is everything not quite as it seems? As Juliana navigates through shards of memory, she can’t escape a truth that is far more challenging. Reality proves more complicated than we could ever have imagined. Opens January 19 2018 until January 27 2018. 8 pm. Arts Resource Centre, Oshawa. Doors at 7:30 pm, curtain at 8 pm. Tickets $15. 

Head to the Canadian Automotive Museum for the Winter Innovations Tour! Heated seats, snow tires, and window defrosters  – what would we do in Canada without automotive innovations that keep us safe and dry during winter weather? Join CAM guides as they use the collection to explore the history of winter driving in Canada. This tour is included with admission. Members free. Break Out Zone and The Paranormal Seekers have teamed up to offer guests a very unique after hours tour of Grimstone Manor, the home of Break Out Zone, to search for paranormal evidence. Guests will have the opportunity to learn about the techniques and equipment used by The Paranormal Seekers. Runs Friday and Saturday evenings. Tickets $25. Under 17s must be accompanied by an adult. 11 pm to 1 am.
