What’s On Oshawa Weekend Jan 13 & 14 2018

L’Amicale French Community Centre of Durham is proud to present their Hockey Heroes game featuring the Alumni of the Montreal Canadiens Alumni and the Toronto Maple Leafs at the Tribute Communities Centre! A long-standing rivalry, the Montreal Canadiens Alumni are determined to beat the Toronto Alumni in Leafs Nation territory! Proceeds from this exciting event will benefit the Alzheimer Society of Durham Region which provides support, education and programs to improve the quality of life for people with Alzheimer’s disease or a related dementia and their care partners in Durham Region. Peaceful Waves Movement is teaming up with The Paint Factory to offer a free workshop, and they’re looking for children ages 7 -13 to participate!  With effective mindfulness techniques, children will dive into the creativity that is dreaming inside of them. Great for children who are experiencing depression, anxiety, low self-esteem and ADHD.  Note: this will be filmed for future promotional purposes.  All art supplies will be provided – all you need to do is show up! Spots are limited so RSVP to hold your child’s place. Take a Paranormal Tour of Grimstone Manor! Break Out Zone and The Paranormal Seekers have teamed up to offer guests a very unique 2 hour tour. Guests will attend Grimstone Manor (home of Break Out Zone) after hours (at night) to explore and search for paranormal evidence. Guests will have the opportunity to learn about the techniques and equipment used by The Paranormal Seekers.  Runs January 13 to April 1 2018. Group size 3-8 people. It’s the Writers Hang Out Afternoon at The LivingRoom Community Art Studio! Bring your writing projects and enjoy an afternoon among others who love expressing themselves through the written and spoken word. Ceth Légère & Sid MacIsaac (founder of Spoken Weird poetry) will also be on hand from 12-2pm to offer creative prompts and writing exercises and celebrate your work. Writers Hang-Out is open to all ages and abilities, PWYL donations always appreciated in support of the LivingRoom project.
