Head to the Robert McLaughlin Gallery on November 25 2017 at 7 pm for an evening of photography that’s guaranteed to be out of this world. Literally!
RMG Exposed, the highly anticipated annual fundraising event supporting free arts programming at Oshawa’s Robert McLaughlin Gallery, will bring together artists, collectors, curators, and the community for an exciting evening celebrating digital photography and arts programming throughout Durham Region.
This year’s theme, Out of This World, will bring outer space down to Earth – the live photography auction includes an image donated by Col. Chris Hadfield taken from space when he was commander of the International Space Station, as well as an image by David Bastedo, exclusive photographer of the Tragically Hip, of one of Gord Downie’s iconic hats.
Returning to the auction is Stephanie Foden, a recent Durham College graduate and who won a solo exhibition at the RMG at Exposed 2016, as well as Lora-Moore Kakaltris, whose images have won numerous awards.
The RMG Exposed 2017 Live Auction lots are being curated by Charlotte Hale: “Each image has been carefully selected to provide our guests the unique opportunity to purchase an outstanding photograph, and support the gallery at the same time. This year, as curator, I have chosen 10 photographers who are working with a variety of photographic processes, both traditional and contemporary. Each photographer is producing exceptional images in their chosen genre that will make an excellent addition to any permanent collection, personal or corporate. With you in mind, I have endeavoured to bring ten incredible images and purchase opportunities to the 2017 RMG Exposed – Out of This World event.”
RMG Exposed is the only live auction in the region for fine art photography, and an exciting event for anyone starting a photography collection or looking to add a unique piece. Tickets include admission to the event, plus food and drink.
RMG Exposed – Out of This World takes place November 25 2017 between 7 pm and 10 pm at the Robert McLaughlin Gallery, 72 Queen Street, Oshawa. Tickets are $60, $30 for students with valid student ID. Visit rmgexposed.ca for more information.
