What’s On Oshawa Weekend August 18 – 20 2017

Join the Rotary Club of Oshawa for the 16th Annual Ribfest at Lakeview Park!  Great food, live entertainment, vendors, and activities. August 18th – 20th 2017. Lakeview Park, Oshawa. Various times. Designated parking in lots on Simcoe Street. Free admission, but donations gratefully accepted. 

Start the weekend with a Pancake & Sausage Breakfast and Classic Car Show, presented by the 420 City of Oshawa WING Royal Canadian Airforce Association! Enjoy all you can eat Pancakes & Sausage breakfast, including juice, tea and coffee. August 19 2017. 9 am to 11 am. 1000 Stevenson Rd N, Oshawa. $5 per person. 

Old Flame Brewing Co. presents the official after party for the 8th Annual P-tek Cup at the Moustache Club! Music acts for the night include Tijuana Jesus (Garage, Rock, Punk), Trish Robb (Acoustic, Folk), and Hippie Crippler (Rock & Roll).  August 19 2017. 9 pm to 2 am. Moustache Club, 15 Simcoe Street North, Oshawa. No cover. 

Learn how to make your own stuffie monster with community artist and LivingRoom Volunteer Sam O. Go though the steps of hand-sewing a one-of-a-kind stuffed creature that you can keep for yourself or give to someone you care about. August 19 2017. 12 pm to 2 pm. 149 Simcoe Street South, Oshawa.  All ages and abilities welcome. Suggested donation of $10 or Pay-What-You-Like (PWYL) in support of the studio project. Take a walking tour through the history of automotive manufacturing in downtown Oshawa, hosted by the Canadian Automotive Museum! Expert guides will explore the streetscape and bring to life the people and places that made Oshawa “Canada’s Motor City.” Includes 60 minute guided tour,  plus admission and guided tour of the Canadian Automotive Museum.  Please wear comfortable shoes, tours run rain or shine so dress for the weather, and bring a camera! Photos are encouraged on this tour.  General admission tickets can be pre-purchased online or at the museum the day of the tour. No RSVP necessary!  August 20 2017. 1 pm. 99 Simcoe Street South, Oshawa. $10 Adults, $8 Student/Senior, $5 Children. 

Check out Vivala Table Top at Brew Wizards Board Game Cafe! Come join Vivala Con for an amazing day that will not only be a blast, but will also help Vivala Con bring more amazing events in the future! If you’re looking to bring the kids down for some fun, check out the Children’s Pathfinder Demo at table 2 from 11 am to 1 pm!  In “Ruins,” new players will learn the ins and outs of combat without the complication of Feats and Skills. Dice will be provided! Recommended ages 6-14.  Visitors are encouraged to Cosplay, but please keep it simple, family friendly, and fun. No body paint, no big props, or bulky cosplay. It’s Stuff-A-Bag Arts & Crafts Sale at The LivingRoom Community Art Studio! Stuff a bag with a art supplies from selected shelves and tables for either $2 or $5 and put together your very own customized “studio-to-go”. Find fabric, yarn, knitting needles, patterns, kits, frames, crayons, pencil crayons, paper & more! 149 Simcoe Street South, Oshawa. 12 pm to 4 pm. All ages and abilities are welcome. All funds from sale go towards the support of the LivingRoom project. 

Enjoy the tastes of summer and support a good cause at the all you can eat Oshawa Shrine Club Mini Bike and Tractor Unit’s Annual Family BBQ and Corn Roast!  Includes prizes and a cash bar. Tickets available from any Minibike/tractor member or online. This is a rain or shine event. Indoor eating space available. Corn is locally picked on the day of the event!
