Parkwood Estate hosts the opening night of Driftwood Theatre’s Bard Bus Tour production of Othello, William Shakespeare’s blistering tale of race, jealousy and revenge.  Set against the backdrop of Canadian history, when in 1974 Canadian soldiers are caught in a life or death struggle on the small island of Cyprus.  All performances of Othello are accompanied by a special audio installation, The Cyprus Project, beginning at 6:30 pm nightly. Durham College hosts the 2017 Canadian Trampoline Championships, which brings together 350 of Canada’s best national level and high performance junior and senior gymnasts who will challenge for the title of Canadian Champion in men’s and women’s individual and synchronized trampoline, tumbling, and double mini-trampoline (DMT). The national team from Australia will also be attending as guests.  2012 and 2016 Olympic trampoline champion Rosie MacLennan will headline the women’s trampoline finals on Saturday evening in her first competition since the Olympic Games, while the World Games team of Tamara O’Brien will be putting the finishing touches on their routines before they leave for Poland following the event.  July 15 & 16 2017. Durham College – Recreation & Wellness Centre, 2000 Simcoe St N, Oshawa.
