Don’t miss Oshawa’s annual Canada Day celebration at Lakeview Park! Lots of activities for kids, plus a midway, live entertainment, food vendors, and fireworks at dusk. July 1 2017. 2 pm to 10 pm. Lakeview Park, Oshawa. FREE.

Clarington Museums will celebrate Canada Day with musical performances by The Charles Street Band and The Orono Cornet Band, plus 2 new exhibits! July 1 2017.  10 am to 2 pm. 37 Silver Street, Clarington.  FREE admission, but some activities and food are extra.  

Head to Whitby for Canada Day and the County Town Carnival, brought to you by the Town of Whitby and Community Connection! Don’t miss the live entertainment, food vendors, community displays, fireworks at dusk, and children’s activities. Free parking at Iroquois Park Sports Centre (500 Victoria St. W.), and the south lot of the Whitby GO Station. July 1 2017. 12 pm to 10 pm.  Victoria Fields, 345 Victoria St. W., Whitby. FREE. 

The Town of Ajax is ready with two Canada Day Celebrations, a daytime celebration for families at Rotary Park, and an evening celebration at Ajax Downs that includes a performance by Canadian indie legends Sloan, and fireworks at 10 pm. July 1 2017. Daytime Family Celebration at Rotary Park, 177 Lake Driveway West, Ajax. 10 am to 3 pm.  Night-time Extravaganza, 6 pm to 10 pm.  Ajax Downs, 50 Alexander Crossing, Ajax.  FREE. 

The City of Pickering is hosting Daytime Canada Day Celebrations and Evening Canada Day Celebrations! July 1 2017. Daytime 12 pm to 5 pm. Esplanade Park, Pickering. FREE.  Evening 5 pm to 10 pm. Kinsmen Park. Includes family dance party from 5 pm to 7 pm, live music, and finishes with a giant pyromusical fireworks show. FREE.
