Join Central Lake Ontario Conservation staff for the 4th Annual Fire Fly Night Hike! Families are invited out for a FREE evening walk through the Purple Woods Conservation Area, after dark. Explore the history of automotive manufacturing in downtown Oshawa with expert guides from the Canadian Automotive Museum on the Cars & Cupcakes Walking Tour! Oshawa has been home to the McLaughlin Carriage Company, McLaughlin Motor Company, and General Motors of Canada, but today only a few remnants of the city’s former industrial past remain. The tour will explore the streetscape and bring to life the people and places that made Oshawa “Canada’s Motor City.” The tour begins at the Canadian Automotive Museum, and a stop at Cupcake Goodness for a snack is included. Celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Robert McLaughlin Gallery at the Strawberry Social! The Strawberry Social is an early gallery tradition revisited, and this backyard-bash meets garden party will include live music from Gib&Tam, games, strawberry goodies, and the premiere of a short documentary that looks back to fifty years of growth, success, and promises for the future.  The RMG will also be sealing a time capsule to be opened on the occasion of our 100th anniversary, so bring along memories, stories, photos, and anything else that will help commemorate what the gallery is at 50.
