The Whitby Courthouse Theatre Youth Group present the tale of a young boy’s amazing adventures in a candy factory. Based on the children’s classic Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, this show features hit songs from the movie including ‘The Candy Man’, and ‘Pure Imagination’.  June 16 2017. 8 pm. Visit the Oshawa Art Association’s new gallery space, Gallery 67,  in the Holiday Inn Express and Suites! Explore your city with the Oshawa Active Transportation Advisory Committee Community Ride! Join committee members for a relaxed and informative ride on Oshawa’s 3 trails and on-road bike routes.  Meet at Oshawa City Hall – Civic Square, parking available at City Hall.  Sign up at 9:30 am, ride at 10 am.  Recommended age 16+. Every cyclist under age 18 must wear an approved helmet. Helmets are not compulsory for adults over 18 but are recommended. Participants should bring their own refillable water bottles and sunscreen. June 17 2017.  9:30 am – 12 pm. 50 Centre Street South, Oshawa. Spend Father’s Day at the Canadian Automotive Museum! Volunteer guides will be on hand for special Father’s Day guided tours of the galleries at 11am and 1pm. Tours are included with admission, members free.  For Father’s Day the Canadian Automotive Museum has partnered with the Prostate Cancer Canada Network (PCCN) of Durham Region in support of men’s health. The PCCN will have volunteers on-site with information available on prostate cancer and men’s health screenings. Don’t miss the annual Fiesta Week Parade and Concert, when Fiesta Week officially kicks off for 2017! Starting at King and Centre Street in Oshawa, with host Patricia Jaggernauth, Weather Specialist from channel CP24 as the grand parade marshal. The concert at Memorial Park starts at approx. 1:30 pm, following the end of the parade. Sample your favourite foods from around the world, watch dances from our participating pavilions, and meet Miss Fiesta 2016! You can also meet Patricia at Memorial Park after the parade for a meet and greet between 2 pm -3 pm. Fiesta Pavilions open from June 19-24 2017.  Fiesta Passports are available at all pavilions and at Memorial Park. $10 Adults, $5 Students/Seniors, under 13s FREE. June 18 2017. 12:30 pm.
