It’s the first Friday of the month, and that means it’s time for RMG Fridays at the Robert McLaughin Gallery! Check out the new exhibitions, live music, artist talks, hands-on fun for families in the Studio, and, most importantly, there’s a cash bar.  March 3, 2017. 7 pm to 10 pm. 72 Queen Street, Oshawa. Head to The LivingRoom Community Art Studio for Wire Sculpture! All ages and abilities are welcome, but it’s suggested a parent or friend should plan to attend and help children under 12. The Canadian Automotive Museum presents the Gallery Highlights Tour! Join an expert tour guides and explore highlights of the Canadian Automotive Museum collection. Discover the stories behind the cars on display beyond the standard label text. This tour is included with admission and is approximately one hour in length. Binnfeill is RS McLaughlin CVI’s annual student-run dance production. This year’s “Mission Binnfeill” is about all things space! Join us as we follow the journey of our team of astronauts as they travel through space for the first time and experience the struggles of space travel. We will be featuring a wide variety of dance styles, from hip-hop to contemporary, and everything in between! It will truly be out of this world! Tickets will be sold outside the doors. The Oshawa Museum hosts Sunday FUNday! Learn how different life was for families around a Victorian home. Explore roles of the family, tools and gadgets that made their life easier and how homes are different now in terms of decorating style and architecture.  March 5, 2017. Lakeview Park, Oshawa. 12 pm to 4 pm.  FREE, all ages welcome. 

Head to the Station Gallery in Whitby and climb aboard the Trash Train! Connect with family and friends while you upcycle and make extraordinary art right in the Gallery with materials that were headed for the trash. Stay as little or as long as you like for this drop-in program.  March 5, 2017. 11 am to 2 pm. 1450 Henry Street, Whitby. FREE. 

It’s your last chance to see The Laramie Project, by Dancyn Productions, before it closes on March 5, 2017.  The play is described as “a breathtaking collage that explores the depths to which humanity can sink and the heights of compassion of which we are capable.” March 3-5, 2017. 681 Dnipro Blvd., Oshawa.
