It’s a corker of a weekend with all the awesome things to do right here in Oshawa:

Santa’s Parade of Lights is back to delight kids of all ages on November 19, 2016! Parade starts at Stevenson Road and King Street, and finishes at Stevenson Road and Bond Street. To avoid being blocked in by the parade, organisers recommend parking north of Bond Street or south of King Street along the parade route. 6 pm. FREE.

The animated film, The Secret Life of Pets, is playing at Cineplex Family Favourites! Tickets are all just $2.99 – perfect for families on a budget.  1351 Grandview Street North, Oshawa. 11 am. Tickets $2.99.  

The Strange and Astounding Show, Canada’s only fully interactive Horror Convention and Vendor Market, arrives with more than 40 vendors, celebrities, guests, interactive events and activities, photo ops and food.  This year’s theme is ‘Undead Xmas Nightmare’, and Zombie Santa returns! November 19 and 20, 2016. 151 Cadillac Avenue North, Oshawa. 

Live music from Lush Buffalo, Little Junior, and Tijuana Jesus at the Moustache Club. November 19, 2016. 15 Simcoe Street North, Oshawa. 9 pm. $6 cover. 

The Music Hall Night Club & Concert Theatre welcomes Adam Gontier of Three Days Grace in a live, solo performance. 39 King Street East, Oshawa. 7 pm. Tickets $20. 19+. 

Catch the Oshawa Little Theatre’s production of How to Succeed in Business without Really Trying! Big business means big laughs in this delightfully clever lampoon of life on the corporate ladder.  This tune-filled comic gem that took Broadway by storm winning both the Tony Award for Best Musical and a Pulitzer Prize.  November 19, 2016 (until December 3, 2016). 62 Russett Avenue, Oshawa. Support the local music scene, and head out to see Throne To The Wolves, Romancer, Sight By City, and Static Prevails when they play the Moustache Club.  November 20, 2016. 15 Simcoe Street North, Oshawa. 9 pm. $10. 

In its fifth year, the Reebok CrossFit Invitational will take over the Tribute Communities Centre (formerly the GM Centre), in the most stacked event to date!  The Invitational is CrossFit’s all-star game, with the fittest men and women from each section of the globe coming together to compete. After the CrossFit Games, athletes are carefully chosen and invited to represent their respective countries at the Invitational. At this year’s Invitational, 20 CrossFit Games athletes, including six champions, will be in attendance. Head to the Station Gallery’s Brooklin location for Ornaments for All, a family program where kids can create one-of-a-kind ornaments for the upcoming holiday season! November 20, 2016. 10 am to 12 pm OR 1 pm to 3 pm. Registration required. $15 per person.
