Friday July 22, 2016

Enjoy a relaxing yoga session on the historic grounds of the Oshawa Museum.  No registration required, just show up with a mat and water bottle!  1450 Simcoe Street South, Lakeview Park.  10 am to 11 am.  FREE.

Saturday July 23, 2016

Raise money and have fun a the Durham 1/4 Marathon, Canada’s original 1/4 marathon including both a 1/4 and 1/8 run! Join 1400 participants for a point-to-point, net-downhill course leading to our fantastic finish line where runners receive free massages, incredible prizes, goodies, free food from the food tent, and much more.  All funds raised go directly to The Refuge Youth Outreach Centre, a drop-in centre for homeless and street youth in Oshawa. Race day registration $65. Oshawa City Hall, 50 Centre Street South. 

Fallen Love Records, Oshawa’s bedroom pop label, presents the Summer (he) Arts Fair, with musical performances by Luka, Home Movies, and Blunt Chunks, plus 20 DIY vendors, literary readings, and an all-ages talent show. Oshawa Public Library, 65 Bagot Street. 10 am to 5 pm. FREE. 

It’s Whitby Harbour Day, a free, summer celebration of Whitby’s historic waterfront with fun for the whole family! Check out dragon boating, water ski shows, kid’s activities, food, nautical parade of lights, and fireworks.  Port Whitby Marina, 301 Watson Street.  12 pm till dusk.  FREE. 

Head to The LivingRoom Community Art Studio for a workshop with Assistant Coordinator Keren Harvey! Create a special ornament that will continue to inspire wherever it’s displayed!

It’s time for another unplugged Open Mic afternoon at the LivingRoom Community Art Studio! Express yourself and share your art in a super supportive, non-judgemental environment.  All ages and abilities welcome!
