Where to Eat Ice Cream in Oshawa

Cool off in Oshawa with a visit to these local ice cream parlours:

Hollywood Cone Check your diet at the door, because this downtown Oshawa ice cream hotspot always draws a crowd for their soft serve vanilla, chocolate or swirl ice cream cones, Mutant Shakes, Slushies or old-fashioned soda floats (remember those, fellow oldies?).  Open year round.  1 Simcoe Street North.

Scoops We once arrived at Scoops looking for ice cream when it was officially closed, and, without a moment’s hesitation, they opened the shop to serve the kids ice cream.  So ignore that it’s attached to a motel that looks like it’s straight from your family’s cross-Canada road trip in 1982, because this friendly spot serves big cones packed with delicious Kawartha Dairy ice cream that’s best eaten outside on their patio picnic tables.  Open seasonally. 1607 King St. E., Courtice

Jubilee Catering at Lakeview Park Forget the soft serve, because the Kawartha Dairy ice cream cones at this Lakeview Park are seriously huge.  For around $3, you can get a massive double scoop of Ontario-made ice cream that will satisfy even the biggest ice cream craving.  Open seasonally. 55 Lakeview Park Ave.

Rachel’s Chips and Cones We love that there’s a real “Rachel” behind the popular food truck Rachel’s Chips & Cones, AND she just graduated from college!  Congratulate Rachel’s proud family by buying an ice cream cone, a sundae (try the new 8 oz sundae with sprinkles for $2), or milkshake.  Open seasonally. 1188 Simcoe Street South.
