Friday, June 3

The Brooklin Spring Fair runs all weekend at the Luther Viapond Arena – Brooklin Memorial Park! The schedule is packed with a weekend full of entertainment for the whole family.  9 am to 10 pm Friday & Saturday, 9 am to 4 pm Sunday.  67 Winchester Rd. E.  Family pass $25, adults $10, children 5 – 12 $5, under 5s free!  

Start the weekend with Yoga in the Garden at the Oshawa Community Museum!  No registration required – just drop in and bring a mat!  Henry House Heritage Gardens, Lakeview Park, 1450 Simcoe Street South.  10 am to 11 am. FREE, donations to the Museum accepted.

Dancyn Productions Theatre Company presents RENT, directed by Joan Mansfield!  Runs until June 12.  Theatre Dnipro, 681 Dnipro Blvd. $25 adults, $15 youth. Purchase online here.   

Head to the Robert McLaughlin Gallery for RMG Fridays – The Pride Show, in partnership with Pride Durham. Listen to Adam McMaster and Kate Reid perform, tour Liminal, the RMG’s newest exhibit, and learn about Masters of Romance, a short film currently shooting in Oshawa.  72 Queen Street. 7 pm to 10 pm.  FREE. All ages.  Cash bar. 

Keep the RMG Friday feeling going and head to the Moustache Club for the official after party!  15 Simcoe Street North.  10 pm. 

Saturday, June 4

Take the family to the Oshawa Children’s Community Fair!  Activities include a visit from the Disney Princesses, Zoo to You, arts and crafts, magicians and clowns, face painting, a BBQ and much more!  Memorial Park, Downtown Oshawa.  11 am to 3 pm.  FREE.  

Cineplex Family Favourites presents The Lorax, an adaptation of the classic tale of a forest creature who shares the enduring power of hope.  1351 Harmony Road N. 11 am. $2.99 per ticket. 

Sunday, June 5

Join Oshawa Community Museum staff on a walking tour of Downtown Oshawa, sharing stories from days gone by, and stories from recent memory.  Departs from the Oshawa Public Library, McLaughlin Branch, 65 Bagot Street.  12 pm. $5 per person.  

Gamers can head to the Durham Video Game Convention, a family friendly event featuring vendors and dealers from across Ontario.  Dress up as your favourite character and get half-price admission!  Oshawa Legion Branch 43, 471 Simcoe Street Oshawa.  10 am to 4 pm.  $5.  

Come out and celebrate the Durham Pride Parade, starting with a Family BBQ in honour of PFLAG. Festivities start in the Municipal parking lot, corner of King & Centre Street. Parade starts at 1:30 pm, and ends in Memorial Park, Oshawa, where the party continues! FREE. Memorial Park.  11 am to 5 pm. 

Climb aboard the Trash Train at the Station Gallery in Whitby!  Drop in and make tiny boats from cork and printed fabric – for free!  11 am to 2 pm.  Drop in, all ages.  1450 Henry Street, Whitby.  FREE. 

Watch RS McLaughlin Collegiate students perform Legally Blonde The Musical! 570 Stevenson Rd. N. 4 pm. $15 adults, $8 children, available at the door or by calling 905-728-9407.
