Nearly everyone loves Chinese take-out (and eat-in!), so here’s where to find it in Oshawa:
Mandarin Restaurant: This sprawling buffet restaurant is a chain, but it’s one of the most popular Chinese eateries in town. Featuring dishes like sweet and sour chicken and pork, seafood, chicken balls, egg rolls, stir fries, plus North American favourites like roast beef, potatoes and, of course, pizza, there is literally something for everyone at the Mandarin. 1319 Airport Blvd.. Times and prices vary, see website for details.
Azian Cuisine: Like the Mandarin, there’s a little bit of everything at Azian, including Chinese fried rice and noodles, Vietnamese pho, pad thai and Japanese sushi and udon. Azian offers a slightly up market dining experience, plus take out if you prefer to eat in. 1365 Wilson Road North.
Wok Box: Another Asian mash-up of a menu, offering Canada’s favourite dishes, the Wok Box chain offers rice and noodle boxes with flavours such as Korean beef bulgogi, butter chicken, lemongrass Thai curry, Singapore cashew, and pad thai. 855 Taunton Road E..
Hong Kong House: Hong Kong House has been in downtown Oshawa pretty much forever, and those who love it forgive the dated decor. Portions are large, average around $10 a dish, and include Chinese favourites like chop suey, chow mein, sweet and sour, and spicy Szechuan. 89 Simcoe Street South.
