ceremony-407153_640We polled our Twitter followers to find the most romantic restaurant in Oshawa! Here’s what they said:

Coming in at number three, Fazios has been voted the Best Italian Restaurant in the Oshawa This Week Readers Choice Awards for the last 10 years.  Boasting a 15,000 bottle wine cellar, Fazios offers casual fine dining with dishes like traditional caprese, carpaccio, ossobuco, chicken scallopini, and veal alla griglia.  Check out the full dinner menu here.  Location:  33 Simcoe Street South.  Price range: $8 to $38 per dish.  Reservations:  905-571-7994.

Tied for second place are Avanti Trattoria and The Keg Steakhouse.  Avanti, a popular downtown Oshawa destination, offers casual Italian antipasto, pasta, secondi, salads, as well as fresh pizza baked in their wood fired oven.  Location:  17 King Street East. Price range:  $5.95 to $22 per dish. Contact:  905-404-8040.  The Keg Steakhouse, located outside the Oshawa Centre, is offering a special Valentine’s Day menu.  For $46 per person, diners can choose between two salads to start, prime rib, New York strip, salmon or chicken for their main, and a dessert.  The full Valentine’s Day menu can be viewed here.  Location:  255 Stevenson Road South.  Contact:  905-571-3212.

Taking the number one spot is Bistro ’67, Durham College’s teaching-inspired restaurant.  This Valentine’s Day, Bistro ’67 is offering a four-course $65 menu, which includes charcuterie and cheese, cupid’s arrow platter, choice of chateau briande, grilled mahi mahi or in-house ravioli, finishing with a sweet sensations tasting platter for two. Yes, it’s technically not in Oshawa, but Bistro ’67 is part of Durham College, and their main campus is here.  Location:  1604 Champlain Ave., Whitby.  Reservations start at 5 pm.  For tickets, contact Kelly.O’Brien@durhamcollege.ca or at 905-721-2000 ext. 4255.
