Light the birthday candles, because RMG Fridays is turning five!
Yes, it’s been five years since the monthly event was born at the Robert McLaughlin Gallery (RMG). And, as with any milestone birthday, there will be a party in true RMG style, on February 5, 2016, from 7 pm to 10 pm.
The 5th Anniversary Celebration will showcase Annie Sumi, an indie-folk artist from Whitby, percussion by Jamie Drake, live movement throughout the gallery by the O’Neill Senior Dance Ensemble, and artist JR Hunter will be live-painting. The evening will also include Museum Hack, a New York-based company offering interactive, adventure-type tours, giving their uniquely non-traditional tour of the gallery – the first opportunity in Ontario for visitors to experience a Museum Hack Tour at a free, public event.
“To see RMG Fridays reach this milestone is an occasion worthy of a celebration!” said Donna Raetsen-Kemp, CEO of the RMG. “It reflects how far we will go in the future and is a wonderful way to highlight our commitment to be more inclusive in a public space.”
Date: February 5, 2016. Location: 72 Queen Street. Time: 7 pm to 10 pm. Cost: FREE.
