A dance party for Sick Kids Hospital, Chopin concert, and The Nutcracker ballet! It’s all happening this weekend, so don’t miss it!

DJ Mark Oliver takes over the deck at the Oshawa Music Hall, and 100% of the proceeds will be donated to Sick Kids Hospital.  Date:  December 18, 2015. Location:  39 King Street East.  Time: 10 pm. Cost:  Minimum $15 donation to Sick Kids.

It’s time to show off your housebuilding skills! Gingerbread house building, that is.  Make your finest gingerbread house at home, then bring it to the first annual Gingerbread House Showcase! Crowd favourites will earn fun prizes, and everyone can enjoy special crafts, treats, and activities.  To pre-register your gingerbread house in the Gingerbread House Showcase, please contact jclark@oshawalibrary.on.ca or 905-579-6111 ext. 5260. The Oshawa Philharmonic presents Chopin with Daniela Liebman, Master Series, Piano Concerto No. 2 op.21 in f minor.  Date:  Saturday, December 19, 2015.  Location:  UOIT Regent Theatre, 50 King Street East.  Time:  8 pm.  Cost:  Tickets are $45/$56

Celebrate the holidays with a Victorian Tea at the Oshawa Community Museum! Tours include tea and scones with a short presentation about Victorian Christmas in Oshawa. Date:  December 20, 2015.  Location:  Oshawa Community Museum.  Time: 1 pm.  Cost: $10 on weekends.   
Make something special for the pet in your life with community artist Sam Ouellette! Stitch up a bohemian catnip mouse or a handmade fabric feline toy to show your furry friends how much you love and appreciate them in your life! Date:  December 19, 2015.  Location:  149 Simcoe Street South.  Time:  11 am. Cost:   Suggested donation of $10 or Pay-What-You-Can. Watch the holiday classic, The Nutcracker Ballet, presented by Prima Dance Academy!  Don’t miss the magical story of Clara and her adventures.  Date:  December 19 and 20, 2015.  Location:  Oshawa Little Theatre, 62 Russet Avenue.  Time:  2 pm.  Cost: Adults $29.50, children $21.50.  Tickets available online.
Say goodbye to the Oshawa art and music venue Wasted Space with a night of music featuring DeerGod, a noise punk trio from Toronto, plus local bands St. Lotus, Solace, and Sammy Duke.  All proceeds to to PFLAG.  Date:  December 19, 2015.  Location:  74 Celina Street.  Time:  7 pm.  Cost:  $7.  All ages welcome. 
Canadian Christian recording artist Kevin Pauls and friends will perform at Trinity Pentecostal Church. Date:  December 20, 2015.  Location:  900 King Street.  Time:  7 pm.  Cost:  Adults $25, children $10.  Tickets available online.
