Sculpture, A Servant’s Life, and Canadian music icons Spirit of the West. Yes, this is what’s on in Oshawa! And you’ll find them all in this week’s events:

Opening at the RMG, Mike Drolet is the ArtLab Artist in Residence, exploring sculptural abstraction and precarious balance.  Date:  Opens November 3, 2015.  Location:  72 Queen Street.  Cost:  FREE.

Do you feel your worldview expanding? Are you becoming aware of your new powers of perception? Some believe that humans are in a new evolutionary phase of development – the emergence of humans at the spiritual level. Join author Teresa L. Decicco, PhD, as she discusses this species-wide transformation.  Date:  November 4, 2015.  Location:  McLaughlin Branch of the Oshawa Public Library.  Time:  6:30 pm.  Cost:  FREE (registration required).

Examine the life of Sam McLaughlin’s 40 service staff and enjoy unprecedented access to the servant’s quarters at Parkwood Estate during the special Curatorial Signature Experience tour, A Servant’s Life.  Date:  November 4, 2015.  Location:  270 Simcoe Street North.  Time:  7 pm to 9 pm.  Cost:  $30.  

Catch a screening of the classic thriller Rear Window at UOIT Regent Theatre’s monthly Classic Movie Night.  Popcorn and treats available at the concession, plus door prizes and a chance to vote for upcoming movies.  Date:  Thursday November 5, 2015.  Time: 7 pm.  Location:  50 King Street East.  Cost:  $5 cash (at the door only)

Celebrate the Grand Opening of downtown Oshawa’s new Mini Mall! Complimentary coffee and light snacks will be served. Date: Friday November 6, 2015.  Time: 12 pm to 1pm (ribbon cutting at 12:15 pm.).  Location:  19 Simcoe Street North.  Cost:  FREE.
