Beginners Guide to Oshawa Ribfest

ribfestWith Oshawa’s favourite finger-licking barbecue festival rolling into Lakeview Park September 11, 12 and 13, we’ve put together an everything-you-need-to-know guide to the Rotary Club of Oshawa’s 14th Annual Ribfest.

It’s free.  Anyone can stroll around the festival – no tickets or entry free required.

Go hungry.  There are 10 Ribbers on site, with names like Billy Bones BBQ, Horn Dawgs Smokin BBQ, and the Gator BBQ Company. Most Ribbers are from Ontario, a few have their roots in the southern US, but they’re all about serving the tastiest ribs around.

Check out the vendors.  With dozens of local retailers, community groups and food vendors on site, there’s more to Ribfest than just big barbecues.

Take cash.  Most vendors and ribbers only accept cash, but there are ABMs on site.

Park for free.  Find designated parking lots on Simcoe Street.  If the lots are full, use the overflow lot and take the free shuttle to the park.

No pets.  We know Fido loves ribs too, but leave your pooch at home.

Watch the entertainment. Live music and dance performances will be on stage each day, including The Dan Clancy Band, Two for the Show, Fleetwood Mix, and Sacha.

Grab a coupon before you go:. Visit the official Ribfest website and grab a $3 off coupon on a half rib dinner.  Conditions apply.
