Free movies and cheap music.  What more would you want for the last week of summer vacation? Find out where in the latest edition of Free & Cheap:

Enjoy a screening of the 2015 film Woman in Gold in the air-conditioned comfort of the Northview branch of the Oshawa Public Library.  18+.  Date:  August 3.  Location:  250 Beatrice Street East.  Time:  2 pm.  Cost:  FREE.  No registration required, just show up.

It’s hot outside, but Warren and Faye have never been cooler.  Classic movie night returns to the Regent Theatre with Bonnie & Clyde!  Date:  September 3. Location:  50 King Street East.  Time:  7 pm.  Cost:  $5 at the door.

Teens can learn how to make their own stop motion animated film using simple props and apps at the Northview Branch of the Oshawa Public Library!  Date:  September 3.  Location:  250 Beatrice  Street East. Time:  7 pm.  Cost:  FREE, registration required.  Ages 12 to 17 only.

For those who prefer live music to films, catch Mad Ones and Old Code at the Moustache Club.  Date: September 3.  Location:  15 Simcoe Street North.  Time:  9 pm.  Cost:  $5 at the door.  Age 19+.

Catch a Friday night film at the Legends Centre branch of the Oshawa Public Library, where the 2014 film Boychoir (rated PG) will be shown.  It’s a family program, so parents and kids are welcome!  Date: September 4.  Location:  1661 Harmony Road North.  Time:  6 pm.  Cost:  FREE.  Registration required.

Upcoming Events

Learn about the tradition of Worry Dolls, and make one yourself!  The Living Room Community Art Studio is hosting a Worry Doll Workshop where participants will take away their own, handmade Worry Doll.  Date:  August 5.  Location:  149 Simcoe Street.  Time:  11 am to 1 pm.  Cost:  Suggested donation $10, or pay what you can.
