Free & Cheap Things to do August 15 – 16

PicnicThe world’s longest picnic table, craft beer and free yoga – all in this weekend’s Free & Cheap!

Pack your basket and head to the Durham Harvest Picnic, part of the Durham Festival, as they try to break the Guinness World Record for longest picnic table!  Habitat for Humanity volunteers will do the dirty work by actually building the table, but helping hands are always welcome!  Visitors can also enjoy face painting, food trucks and entertainment.  Date:  August 15.  Location:  South end of Victoria Fields in Whitby.  Time:  11 am to 4 pm, with the picnic taking place from 12:50 pm to 2:30 pm.  Cost:  FREE.

Check out local vendors at the Cause of Paws Market at Queen Elizabeth Public School.  Forty vendors, BBQ and corn roast, $5 nail trimmings (for pets, not people!), face painting, and contests (for pets AND people!), all benefiting the Cuddly Cats Rescue and Sanctuary.  Date:  August 15.  Location:  1205 Simcoe Street North.  Time:  10 am to 4 pm.  Cost:  FREE.

It’s Craft Beer Saturdays at Victory Cigars, featuring Cobourg’s  William Street Beer Co.  Try a free sample, plus food will be available for purchase. Date:  August 15.  Location:  215 King St. East.   Time:  12 pm to 4 pm.  Cost:  FREE.  Must be 19+.  For more info call Kevin 905-443-0193.

Join Lululemon Oshawa for a complimentary all-levels yoga class – just bring your mat.  Date:  August 16.  Location: Lululemon store at the Oshawa Centre.  Time:  9:30 am to 10:30 am.  Cost:  FREE.

Upcoming Events:

Kars On King rolls into Downtown Oshawa on August 21.  Start time is 3 pm, and it’s open to vehicles 1987 or older. Free, no pre-registration required.
