At What’s On Oshawa, we’re all about showcasing the events, culture and unique spaces of our growing city. But we stepped slightly west to talk about a hidden gem that’s largely unknown outside of Durham College: Pantry.
What is Pantry? It’s is a unique retail food store with an urban vibe, located in the Centre for Food (CFF) at Durham College’s Whitby campus. Coffee, fresh baked breads, muffins and pastries, meals-to-go, and packaged soups and sauces, plus more are available to purchase, plus it’s open to the public and visitors can park in the north lot for free (just remember to have your parking ticket validated before you head out).
Products are prepared by students in culinary arts, hospitality and events planning, and are focused on the field-to-fork concept. Select items are available at the Oshawa Campus at the bookstore.
Location: Centre for Food, 1st floor, Durham College, Whitby campus, 1604 Champlain Ave., Whitby
Hours: Monday 10 am to 4 pm, Tuesday to Thursday 8 am to 6 pm, Friday 10 am to 4 pm.
