Free and Cheap Things to do August 8 – 9

Check out the bikes and enjoy live music at the the 4th annual Bikes on Bond!  1000+ motorcycles will be parked in Downtown Oshawa to admire.  Have a bike?  Head downtown to show it off.  Date:  Saturday, August 8.  Time:  2 pm to 8 pm.  Location:  Bond Street, Downtown Oshawa.  Cost:  FREE.

Visit the Robert McLaughlin Gallery (RMG) for OPG Second Sundays where kids can make 2D and 3D artwork!  Date:  Sunday, August 9.  Time:  1 pm to 3 pm.  Location:  72 Queen Street.  Cost:  FREE.

Hair feeling bare?  Accessorize your melon with a head band or hat band made at The Livingroom Community Art Studio.  All abilities welcome.  Date:  Sunday, August 9.  Time:  2 pm to 4 pm.  Location:  149 Simcoe Street South.  Cost:  FREE (donations welcome).

Listen to music for the soul at the 6th Annual Oshawa Gospel Festival at Memorial Park, plus a free community barbecue hosted by The Church of Sabbath-Keeping.  Date:  Sunday, August 9.  Location:  Memorial Park.  Time:  4 pm to 7 pm.  Cost:  FREE.

Coming Up:

Decisions are hard.  Should we go for a healthy jog, or slide into the pub for a cheeky pint?  Our neighbours in Whitby have it covered in the form of the Durham Beer Run .  Gather at the Tap and Tankard in Whitby at 6 pm for a 4 – 6 kilometre run, followed by beers and laughs.  Date:  August 12.  Location:  224 Brock Street South, Whitby.  Time:  6 pm.  Cost:  FREE (beer extra).
