Oshawa’s Best Vegan and Vegetarian Restaurants

foodWho says Oshawa is a meat and potatoes town?  There are lots of local eateries that cater to the city’s vegan and vegetarian crowd:  

Nourished on the Go is Oshawa’s only dedicated vegan restaurant, located in downtown Oshawa at 16 Simcoe St. South. The eatery offers fresh vegan fast-food and a stored (frozen) order service, catering, and cooking classes.  Delivery for stored service large orders is available.  Open Monday to Friday, 11 am to 7 pm, and Saturday from 11 am to 5 pm.

The Table provides scratch-made whole foods and offers a wide variety of vegan and vegetarian dishes, all clearly labeled on their menu.  Located at 20 Simcoe St. S, open from Monday to Friday 7 am to 5 pm, and Saturday 10 am to 4 pm.

Jimmy Guacos, at 36 Athol Street East, is known for its huge burritos and familiar Mexican fare.  Vegans are easily accommodated – just ask.   Open Sunday through Thursday 11 am to 9 pm, Friday from 11 am to 12 am, Saturday 11 am to 3 am.

Spicy Affairs is a family-run Indian restaurant, voted one of the top ten independent restaurants in Oshawa by local blog The Culture Trip, and the chef will make vegetarian dishes vegan by request.  No website for this small spot, you’ll have to contact them the old fashioned way:  905-240-8600.
